The PandaByte BMV080 Particulate Matter Sensor is built around Bosch’s BMV080, recognized as the smallest particulate matter sensor worldwide, with dimensions of just 4.4 × 3.0 × 3.0 mm³—making it more than 450 times smaller than many existing solutions. This compact air-quality sensor employs a laser-based design with integrated photodiodes and advanced algorithms to measure particle concentrations directly in open air, eliminating the need for a fan. It supports real-time monitoring of PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 levels, delivering precise and actionable insights. For connectivity, it offers I2C communication and is compatible with both standard 2.54 mm headers and Grove connectors. Each BMV080 sensor is provided with a free PandaByte x32 Dev board (16 MB Flash version).

Important Information:
At present, only a limited selection of software libraries is available for this sensor, and these libraries are compatible with a restricted range of microcontrollers. We recommend using the SparkFun BMV080 library, which requires an ESP32 development board equipped with 16 MB of Flash memory. Each BMV080 sensor is provided with a free PandaByte x32 Dev board (16 MB Flash version).
